Why we do what we do...
Just as the man on the beach was throwing the many Starfish back into the ocean in an effort to save
as many as he could, Scream N' Shout founder G. Michael Smith travels the country speaking to as
many children as he can. Scream N' Shout Assembly Programs was founded with the heart to
change the world one child at a time.
Like thousands of Starfish on the beach in the story, there are thousands of
children in the World that need to hear a message of Character. Teaching
them that living their lives as Respectful, Responsible,Trustworthy, Reliable
Citizens is not just a subject matter for G. Michael Smith, it is his life's
mission.
Founding Scream N' Shout Assembly Programs in 2007, G. Michael Smith
set out on a mission to change the world One Child At A Time. With his
program "Kidz With Character," Mr. G (as the kids call him) has spoken to
thousands of children all over the country.
When asked during a recent interview, "Why do you do what you do?"
Mr. G spoke about a little girl named Maura.
" In 2010 I was in North Carolina. I had just finished a program and as I was
putting the equipment away the door opens. In walks this little girl with big
brown eyes and long brown hair. She came into the gym with her teacher.
I noticed that they both had big tears in their eyes. As they approached
and I noticed the tears in their eyes I became concerned that perhaps I had said or done something
wrong. When they reached me the teacher said, "Mr. G... this is Maura." She has something she
would like to ask you. So I got on one knee and looked at her teary brown eyes and listened as she
spoke the words that would change my life and send me on my quest to change the world." She
said....
"Mr. G... Do you really think I
could be something someday?"
"It was at that very moment that I
that I was on a mission. A mission
to do what? Throw as many
Starfish back into the ocean as
possible." "That's why I do what I
